2010 California Beer Competition
Monday, October 17, 2011 at 04:30PM Lightning Brewery cleaned house at the California State Fair in Sacramento this year! Competing with over 475 other entries, we submitted 7 beers and got 7 medals:
Gold Medal, 2nd Honorable Mention for Best In Show

Hey guys, I just tried your Old Tempest Ale, and it taste great. One small issue though, and perhaps it is just this bottle. When i poured it it didn't form much of a head at all. Is this a common attribute of this beer or an abnormality specific to this bottle. again, I really enjoyed the taste, was just curious if the lack of head on this particular beer was common. Keep doing what you do. the next one of your beers I am going to try is your Amber Ale. glad to see someone in this county make quality non IPAs.
